Tuna and Onion Pasty


5 medium-sized red onions
1 x 250g jar of CALLIPO TUNA FILLETS in olive oil
2 tomatoes
6 slices of sandwich bread
4 spoonfuls of grated cheese
6 slices of provola cheese
Salt, oregano and extra virgin olive oil (t.t.)
White wine vinegar (t.t.)



Clean the onions and cut into thin strips. Rinse at least three times in water with salt and white wine vinegar. Wash and slice the tomatoes.
Put the sandwich bread into the mixer and add 2 spoonfuls of grated cheese.
Dust an oven dish with the breadcrumbs. On top, arrange a thin layer of onion, the tomato slices, a pinch of salt, a bit of oregano, the drained and chopped CALLIPO TUNA FILLETS and, lastly, the slices of provola.
Sprinkle with another layer of breadcrumbs and cover with the onion, tomato slices, another layer of breadcrumbs and 2 spoonfuls of grated cheese.
Drizzle with a bit of extra virgin olive oil and cover with aluminium foil.
Bake in the oven at 250° for around 40 minutes.
Afterwards, turn on the grill, remove the aluminium foil and grill until the top turns golden.
